This medication is indicated for the treatment of corneal ulcers and superficial infections of the eye and its adnexa, caused by strains presumed or reported susceptible to Ciprofloxacin, in particular Pseudomonas aeruginosa and other Gram-negative bacteria resistant to usual treatments. It is also indicated for localized or diffuse otitis externa accompanied by a strong inflammatory reaction and of which the strains are susceptible to Ciprofloxacin.

CIPAC EYE EAR DROP
This medication is indicated for the treatment of corneal ulcers and superficial infections of the eye and its adnexa, caused by strains presumed or reported to be susceptible to Ciprofloxacin, particularly Pseudomonas aeruginosa and other Gram-negative bacteria resistant to conventional treatments. It is also indicated for localized or diffuse otitis externa accompanied by a strong inflammatory reaction and strains that are susceptible to Ciprofloxacin.
INGREDIENTS
1 ml of Cipac 0.3% Sterile Ophthalmic and Otic Solution contains 3.5 mg ciprofloxacin hydrochloride equivalent to 3 mg base.
ADDED INFORMATION
Inactive ingredients: disodium edetate, mannitol, glacial acetic acid, sodium acetate trihydrate, hydrochloric acid and/or sodium hydroxide for pH adjustment, and purified water.
CONTRAINDICATIONS
Hypersensitivity to quinolones.
DOSAGE
For otic infections
3 to 4 drops, 2 to 4 times per day, or more frequently, if required.
For corneal ulcers
On the 1st day: instill 2 drops into the affected eye every 15 minutes for the first six hours and then 2 drops into the affected eye every 30 minutes for the remainder of the day.
On the 2nd day: instill 2 drops into the affected eye hourly.
From the 3rd to the 14th day, administer 2 drops into the affected eye every 4 hours.
If treatment needs to continue beyond 14 days, the dosing regimen will be determined by the attending physician’s discretion.
For Superficial bacterial infections of the eye and adnexa
For the first 2 days, instill 1 or 2 drops into the conjunctival sac of the infected eye(s) every 2 hours during the daytime. Then use 1 or 2 drops every 4 hours during the daytime until the bacterial infection is resolved.
POSSIBLE SIDE EFFECTS
This drug may cause temporary blurred vision or other visual disturbances. Report to the pharmacist or physician if side effects worsen or last more than a few days.
WARNING
Contact lens wear is not recommended during the treatment of an ocular infection. Therefore, patients should be advised not to wear contact lenses while undergoing treatment.
STORAGE
Keep out of the sight and reach of children, and do not store above 30˚C
