COLESTOP TAB 

Why do you need to give this medicine? This medication belongs to a group of medicines known as statins, which are lipid (fat) regulating medicines. Colestop is used to lower lipids known as cholesterol and triglycerides in the blood when a low fat diet and life style changes on their own have failed. If you are at an increased risk of heart disease, colestop can also be used to reduce such risk even if your cholesterol levels are normal.

INGREDIENTS

Each tablet contains 10 mg of atorvastatin

ADDED INFORMATION

You should maintain a standard cholesterol lowering diet during treatment.]

Added excepients are calcium carbonate, microcrystalline cellulose, lactose monohydrate, croscarmellose sodium etc.

CONTRAINDICATIONS

Hypersensitivity

Severe liver impairment

DOSAGE

Adults and children >10years: 10-40 mg once daily, taken at night.

(Maximum dose, 80mg once daily)

POSSIBLE SIDE EFFECTS 

This drug may lead to muscle pain and tenderness, nausea, constipation, headache. Report to the pharmacist or physician if side effects worsen or last more than a few days.

WARNING

Avoid this drug during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

Avoid this drug or use with caution if older than 70 years

Do not drink too much alcohol while using this drug

Keep this medicine out of the sight and reach of children. Store below 30°C, in the original package, protected from moisture and light.
