Gentamycin / Lavimycin Drop is an antibiotic solution used to treat bacterial infections of the eyes and ears. It belongs to the aminoglycoside class of antibiotics and works by inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis, thus stopping bacterial growth.

Prescription:

  • Prescription required. Use under the supervision of a healthcare professional.

Dosage:

  • Eye: Instill 1–2 drops into the affected eye(s) every 4–6 hours. For severe infections, the dosage may be increased to every 2 hours initially.
  • Ear: Instill 2–3 drops into the affected ear 3–4 times daily.
  • Follow your doctor’s instructions for the dosage and duration of treatment.

  • Gentamycin Sulfate 0.3% w/v: Effective against gram-positive and gram-negative bacterial infections.

Directions/Usage:

  1. Wash hands thoroughly before using the drops.

  3. For ears: Tilt your head or lie on your side, instill the drops, and keep your head in position for a few minutes to allow absorption.
  4. Replace the cap tightly after each use.
