CLAVULIN SUSP 228MG/5ML
This medication is indicated for the treatment of the following infections when caused by susceptible strains of the designated bacteria: sinusitis when caused by β-lactamase-producing strains of H. influenzae or Moraxella (Branhamella) catarrhalis; otitis media when caused by β-lactamase-producing strains of H. influenzae or Moraxella (Branhamella) catarrhalis; lower respiratory tract infections when caused by β-lactamase-producing strains of H. influenzae, K. pneumoniae, S. aureus, or Moraxella (Branhamella) catarrhalis; skin and soft tissue infections when caused by β-lactamase-producing strains of S. aureus; urinary tract infections when caused by β-lactamase-producing strains of E. coli.

ADDED INFORMATION
It also contains aspartame, colloidal silica, golden syrup dry flavor, hydroxypropyl methylcellulose, orange dry flavor 1, orange dry flavor 2, raspberry dry flavor, silicon dioxide, succinic acid, and xanthan gum.

CONTRAINDICATIONS
Hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients
Infectious mononucleosis either suspected or confirmed.
A previous history of amoxicillin-associated jaundice/hepatic dysfunction.

DOSAGE
In infants 12 weeks (3 months) of age or older and in children
Urinary tract Mild to moderate: 25 mg/kg/day in divided doses every 12 hours
Skin and Soft Tissue Severe: 45 mg/kg/day in divided doses every 12 hours
Lower Respiratory Tract: 45 mg/kg/day in divided doses every 12 hours 

POSSIBLE SIDE EFFECTS
This drug may cause stomach and abdominal pain, vomiting, and diarrhea, as well as rash, hyperactivity, or drowsiness. Report to the pharmacist or physician if side effects worsen or last more than a few days.

WARNING
Prolonged use may lead to supra-infections
Prolonged use may also occasionally result in overgrowth of non-susceptible organisms.

STORAGE
Store below 25oC. Keep reconstituted product in the fridge, and discard after 7 days.  Protect from sunlight and heat.
