Nasal decongestant (symptomatic relief for nasal blockage).
Xylometazoline hydrochloride 0.05% w/v — active nasal decongestant.
Benzalkonium chloride — preservative to help keep the solution sterile.
Solution in nasal drop form designed for infant/child use with a dropper-cap bottle.
Intranasal administration — applied directly into the nostrils; not for oral ingestion.
For children aged 2 – 12 years: Instil 2 to 3 drops into each nostril 2 – 3 times a day as needed for relief.
Do not use continuously for more than 7 consecutive days to avoid rebound congestion.
Avoid touching the dropper tip to the nose to prevent contamination and infection.
Possible side effects and reactions may include:
Mild stinging or burning in the nose or throat.
Dry nasal mucosa (dryness).
Sneezing.
Headache, dizziness, or nervousness (rare).
Allergic-type reactions (e.g., swelling of face or severe itching) are rare but require urgent care.
On prolonged use, rebound nasal congestion (worsening blockage) can occur when the drops are stopped.
Typically a small glass or plastic bottle with an integrated dropper cap suitable for accurate dosing.
Store at room temperature away from direct heat and sunlight.
Keep the bottle tightly closed when not in use.
Keep out of reach of children.
Do not use after the expiry date.
Once opened, use within any timeframe recommended on the label (often within several months).
For short-term relief only (no more than 7 days). Overuse increases risk of rebound congestion.
Not recommended in children under 2 years unless specifically directed by a healthcare provider.
Avoid direct contact with the eyes.
Do not share the dropper between individuals — risk of spreading infection.
Use caution if your child is taking medicines that affect blood pressure or is on alpha or beta-blockers — consult a clinician before use.
If symptoms persist beyond 7 days, worsen, or include fever/ear pain, seek medical advice.
