Description:

Ibuprofen Suspension for Children by Fenning is a sugar-free, orange-flavored oral suspension used to relieve mild to moderate pain, reduce fever, and alleviate inflammation in children. It is commonly given for teething pain, toothache, sore throat, earache, headache, minor injuries, post-immunization fever, and symptoms of colds/flu.

Prescription:

• No prescription required in most countries (over-the-counter analgesic/antipyretic for pediatric use). In Ghana it is widely sold OTC in pharmacies.

Consume Type:

Directions/Usage:

Shake bottle well before use. Give with food or milk to reduce stomach upset. Use the provided measuring spoon/syringe.

• Children 6–12 months (5–10 kg): 2.5 mL (50 mg) every 6–8 hours as needed.
• Children 1–3 years (10–15 kg): 5 mL (100 mg) every 6–8 hours.
• Children 3–6 years (15–20 kg): 7.5 mL (150 mg) every 6–8 hours.
• Children 6–9 years (20–29 kg): 10 mL (200 mg) every 6–8 hours.
• Children 9–12 years (29–41 kg): 15 mL (300 mg) every 6–8 hours. Do not exceed 4 doses in 24 hours. Maximum daily dose: 20–30 mg/kg body weight (do not exceed 40 mg/kg/day). Use for shortest time possible (usually 3 days for fever, 5 days for pain). Consult doctor if symptoms persist >3 days (fever) or >5 days (pain).

Common Side Effects:

• Stomach upset, heartburn, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, rash, or mild dizziness. Rare: Stomach bleeding/ulcer, allergic reactions (rash, swelling, breathing difficulty), kidney problems, or increased asthma symptoms.

Storage Advice:
