Maxitrol Eye Drops is a prescription medication used to treat bacterial eye infections and inflammation of the eye.

Therapeutic Class:

Ocular Moisturizer/Hygienic cleanser. It is a sterile, preservative-free physiological solution.(0.9% Sodium Chloride) designed to mimic the body’s natural fluids.

Consume Type:

Ophthalmic/Topical Solution. It is administered by instilling drops directly into the eye or eyelids for cleaning and moisturizing.

Active ingredients:
Dexamethasone: A corticosteroid that reduces inflammation.
Neomycin: An antibiotic that kills certain bacteria.
Polymyxin B: Another antibiotic that kills certain bacteria.

Indications:
Bacterial conjunctivitis (pink eye)
Blepharitis (inflammation of the eyelids)
Keratitis (inflammation of the cornea)
Uveitis (inflammation of the middle layer of the eye)
Iritis (inflammation of the iris)
Contraindications:
Viral or fungal eye infections
Hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients
Glaucoma
Cataracts
Corneal ulcer

Dosage:
Typically, one to two drops four times a day for 7-10 days.

Added information:
