Miconazole (antifungal)

– Hydrocortisone (a mild corticosteroid) 

The form here is the cream in a 20 g tube. Other strengths or forms may exist in other markets, but sources mainly list the 20 g cream variant. 

Topical (external application to the skin)

– Apply a thin layer of Mycocort cream over the affected region and a little beyond the edge

– Use usually 2–3 times daily or as directed by a physician

– Use for the recommended duration; even if symptoms improve earlier, continue to avoid recurrence

– Avoid applying to open wounds or broken skin unless directed

(These are standard instructions for combination steroid + antifungal creams; Mycocort listing implies use for “inflamed conditions … caused by fungi” so similar direction applies) 

– Slight redness or itching

– Hypersensitivity (rare)

– Prolonged use of corticosteroids may lead to skin thinning, stretch marks, pigmentation changes

– Overuse might suppress local immune response and allow secondary infection

– Avoid contact with eyes, mucous membranes, broken skin (unless directed by physician)

– Use the lowest effective amount and for the shortest necessary duration

– Caution in children, elderly, and on thin or sensitive skin

– Do not abruptly stop if used for prolonged period; taper if needed under supervision

– Avoid use if fungal infection is deep or unresponsive to treatment alone; may need systemic therapy

– Discontinue if worsening, signs of secondary infection, or allergic reaction occur

– Avoid use during pregnancy / breastfeeding unless doctor approves

Other combination creams containing antifungal + mild steroid (e.g. miconazole + hydrocortisone brands)

– Use antifungal creams alone (e.g. miconazole, clotrimazole) plus separate corticosteroid if needed (depending on diagnosis)
