Procomil 5 mg is marketed as a tonic to address male sexual debility, sexual dysfunction, reduced libido, and related symptoms (e.g. fatigue, concentration loss) sometimes described as “male menopause” symptoms. 

Prescription:

Common Side Effects:

  • Common: headache, nausea, increased urination.
  • Uncommon: vomiting, loss of appetite, stomach upset, diarrhea, palpitations, increased blood pressure or heart rate, dizziness, anxiety, restlessness, insomnia, sweating. 
  • Very rare: hypotension, bronchospasm, allergic reactions, tremors, psychiatric disorders, etc.

  • Store in a dry place at a temperature up to 30 °C.

Safety Advice / Precautions:

  • Contraindications: hypersensitivity to yohimbine or excipients; heart disease (especially coronary artery disease, arrhythmias), uncontrolled hypertension or hypotension, severe renal or hepatic impairment, peptic ulcers, glaucoma, psychiatric disorders (mood/anxiety), concurrent use of certain CNS drugs. 
  • Use caution and medical supervision if the patient has cardiovascular risk factors, or is using medications that affect blood pressure, CNS stimulants, antidepressants, etc. 
  • Alcohol should not be consumed concomitantly. 
  • Not indicated for women or children < 18 years.
  • In cases of side effects, dose should be reduced or treatment discontinued. 
  • Overdose symptoms: anxiety, confusion, tremors, tachycardia, hypertension, urinary retention, seizures.
