Description:
 Uperio 100mg is a fixed-dose combination medication containing sacubitril and valsartan, classified as an angiotensin receptor-neprilysin inhibitor (ARNi). It is primarily used for the treatment of chronic heart failure in adults with reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF), aiming to reduce the risk of cardiovascular death and hospitalization due to heart failure.

Active Ingredients/Composition:
 Each film-coated tablet contains:

  • Sacubitril: 48.6 mg
  • Valsartan: 51.4 mg
     (as sacubitril/valsartan sodium salt complex)

 Available in 50 mg, 100 mg, and 200 mg strengths.

Consume Type:
 Oral film-coated tablet

Directions/Usage:

  • The recommended starting dose is 49 mg sacubitril / 51 mg valsartan twice daily.
  • After 2 to 4 weeks, the dose may be doubled to the target maintenance dose of 97 mg sacubitril / 103 mg valsartan twice daily, as tolerated by the patient.
  • For patients not previously taking an ACE inhibitor or ARB, or those with renal or hepatic impairment, a lower starting dose may be considered.

Common Side Effects:

  • Hypotension (low blood pressure)
  • Hyperkalemia (elevated potassium levels)
  • Renal impairment
  • Dizziness
  • Cough
  • Angioedema (swelling of the face, lips, or tongue)

 Blister packs containing 28 film-coated tablets.

Storage Advice:

  • Store below 30°C.
  • Keep in the original package to protect from moisture.
  • Keep out of reach of children.

Safety Advice:

  • Contraindicated in patients with a history of angioedema related to previous ACE inhibitor or ARB therapy.
  • Do not use concomitantly with ACE inhibitors; a washout period of 36 hours is required when switching from an ACE inhibitor to Uperio.
  • Not recommended during pregnancy due to potential harm to the fetus.
  • Use with caution in patients with renal or hepatic impairment.
