Description:

Acupan is a non-opioid analgesic containing Nefopam hydrochloride as the active ingredient. It is used for the relief of moderate to severe pain, including postoperative, dental, musculoskeletal, and acute traumatic pain. Unlike opioids, Nefopam does not carry the risk of dependence and has a lower incidence of side effects. It is particularly useful for patients who are at risk of opioid dependence or who experience side effects from opioid medications.

 Dosage:

• Intravenous (IV) Route: 
  • Administer 20 mg (2 ml) slowly over 15–20 minutes. 
  • If necessary, repeat every 4–6 hours, not exceeding a total of 120 mg/day. ​
• Intramuscular (IM) Route: 
  • Administer 20 mg (2 ml) deep into the muscle. 
  • If necessary, repeat every 6 hours, not exceeding a total of 120 mg/day.
