Caditor contains the active substance Atorvastatin. it belongs to a group of medicines called statins which are lipid lowering drugs.
ACTIVE INGREDIENT
Each film-coated tablets contains: Atorvastatin Calcium Trihydrate USP equivalent to Atorvastatin 20mg.

CONTRAINDICATIONS
Caditor 20mg is contraindicated in patient;
with hypersensitivity to the active substance or to any of the excipients
with active liver disease or unexplained persistent elevations of serum transaminases exceeding 3 times the upper limit of normal
during pregnancy, breastfeeding, and in women of child-bearing potential not using appropriate contraceptive measures
treated with hepatitis C antivirals glecaprevir/pibrentasvir.
DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION
The dose of Caditor should be individualized according to baseline LDL-C levels, the goal of therapy, and patient response.
Hypercholesterolemia
The usual staring dose is 10mg once a day. Adjustment of dose should be made at intervals of 4 weeks or more. The maximum dose is 80mg once a day.
Primary prevention of cardiovascular events in high-risk patients
20mg once daily; increased if necessary up to 80mg once daily, dose to be increased at intervals of at 4 weeks.
Secondary prevention of cardiovascular events
80mg once daily.
ADDED INFORMATION
Caditor 20mg is for oral use. It may be given at any time of the day with or without food.
Liver function test should be performed before the initiation of treatment and periodically thereafter.
CAUTION
Caditor 20mg should be used with caution in patients who consume substantial quantities of alcohol and/or have a history of liver disease.
Caditor 20mg should be prescribed with caution in patients with predisposing factors for rhabdomyolysis including renal impairment, hypothyroidism, personal or family history, previous history.
POSSIBLE SIDE EFFECTS
Asthenia, constipation, diarrhoea, dizziness, flatulence, gastrointestinal discomfort, headache, myalgia, nausea, sleep disorders, thrombocytopenia, alopecia, hepatic disorders, skin reactions, vomiting.
