AMLO-DENK 5MG/10MG

Amlo‑Denk is a long‑acting dihydropyridine calcium channel blocker (amlodipine) used for treating hypertension and various forms of angina (stable, Prinzmetal’s) by relaxing vascular smooth muscle and improving coronary blood flow

ACTIVE INGREDIENT

Each tablet contains 6.395 mg amlodipine mesilate 1H2O, equivalent to 5 mg amlodipine.

INDICATIONS

• Hypertension
• Chronic stable angina pectoris
• Vasospastic (Prinzmetal’s) angina

CONTRAINDICATIONS

• Amlodipine is contraindicated in patients with
• hypersensitivity to dihydropyridine derivatives, amlodipine or any of the excipients
• severe hypotension
• shock (including cardiogenic shock)
• obstruction of the outflow tract of the left ventricle (e.g., high grade aortic stenosis)
• haemodynamically unstable heart failure after acute myocardial infarction

DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION

Dosage for high blood pressure

Adult

Initial: 5 mg once daily. Maximum: 10 mg once a day

Children (6-17 years)

Recommended: 2.5 mg/day. Maximum: 5 mg/day

Older Adults (patients who are old or weak)

Initial: 2.5 mg once daily

Dosage for long term chest pain

Adult

Recommended: 5-10 mg once daily

Dosage for vasospastic angina

Adult

Recommended: 5-10 mg once daily

Dosage for blockade of coronary arteries

Adult

Recommended: 5-10 mg once daily

Method of administration

This product is for oral administration

ADDED INFORMATION

Take the tablet at the same time each day with a glass of water.

Doses of amlodipine 2.5 mg are not possible with this product.

CAUTION

Do not take amlodipine with grapefruits

POSSIBLE SIDE EFFECTS

The most commonly reported side effects during treatment are somnolence, dizziness, headache, palpitations, flushing, abdominal pain, nausea, ankle swelling, oedema and fatigue

STORAGE 

Store in a dry place below 30°C in the original package. Protect from light.
