Description:

Kefrox-750 Injection is a broad-spectrum cephalosporin antibiotic used to treat a wide range of bacterial infections. It is effective against many Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria and is commonly indicated for respiratory tract infections (e.g., pneumonia, bronchitis), urinary tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections, bone and joint infections, intra-abdominal infections, and meningitis. It works by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis, leading to bacterial death. It is often used when oral antibiotics are not suitable or for more serious infections.

Prescription: Prescription-only (Rx). Requires a doctor’s prescription and is administered by healthcare professionals (usually intramuscular or intravenous injection).

• Children: 30–100 mg/kg/day in 3 divided doses. Reconstitute with sterile Water for Injection as per label instructions. Use immediately after reconstitution or within the recommended time if stored. Duration depends on the infection (usually 5–10 days). Follow the doctor’s exact prescription.

Common Side Effects:

• Pain or swelling at injection site (especially IM)
• Diarrhoea, nausea, vomiting
• Skin rash
• Allergic reactions (rash, itching, anaphylaxis in penicillin/cephalosporin-sensitive patients) Serious rare: Severe allergic reactions, Clostridium difficile-associated diarrhea, blood disorders, or seizures (in high doses with renal impairment).

• Not effective against viral infections.

• Report any rash, severe diarrhoea, or breathing difficulty immediately.
