Chemical Makeup

Active Ingredients/Composition:

•  Each single metered actuation (spray) delivers Fluticasone Propionate 50mcg directly into the nasal mucosa. It works by binding to glucocorticoid receptors to slow down the release of inflammatory cells and substances.

Usage & Forms

• Variant: 50mcg / dose, 60 metered sprays capacity bottle. (Larger 120 or 150 metered spray configurations are also manufactured within the active molecule class). 

Consume Type: 

• Intranasal use only. It must be sprayed directly into the nostrils and never swallowed, inhaled orally, or allowed into the eyes. 
• Directions/Usage:
  • Shake the bottle gently and remove the dust cap. Blow your nose to clear the nostrils before use.
  • Prime the pump if it is a new bottle or if you haven’t used it for more than 7 days by spraying it into the air until a fine mist appears.
  • Tilt your head slightly forward, insert the nozzle into one nostril, and point the tip outward toward your ear (away from the middle nasal wall/septum).
  • Close your other nostril and press the pump firmly while breathing in gently through your nose. Breathe out through your mouth. Repeat in the other nostril.
  • Adults (Aged 12+): The standard starting dose is 2 sprays into each nostril once daily (preferably in the morning). Reduce to 1 spray per nostril daily once symptoms are under control.
  • Children (Aged 4 to 11): The standard dose is 1 spray into each nostril once daily under adult supervision.
  • Wipe the nozzle clean and replace the protective cap after every use.

• Common Side Effects: Minor nosebleeds (epistaxis), localized nasal burning or stinging, nasal dryness, sneezing, headache, an unpleasant taste/smell, or a sore throat.

Storage Advice: 

• Store at room temperature between 15°C to 25°C. Do not freeze. Keep the bottle stored upright with the dust cap tightly replaced, safely out of reach of children. 
• Safety Advice:
  • Do not use this medicine if you have an unhealed nasal wound, ulcer, or recently underwent nasal surgery.
  • Avoid concurrent use with strong CYP3A4 inhibitors (such as ritonavir or ketoconazole), as they can cause the steroid to build up heavily in your blood, raising the risk of systemic side effects like Cushing’s syndrome.
  • Long-term use over many months can rarely slow down growth velocity in children, increase eye pressure (glaucoma), or cause cataracts; routine checkups are recommended.
  • It does not provide immediate relief like over-the-counter decongestants. It must be used daily, and it can take several days or a couple of weeks to reach its full therapeutic effect.
