Flucloxacillin is a penicillin antibiotic used to treat bacterial infections. Flucloxacillin 500mg capsules contain flucloxacillin sodium as the active ingredient.

Active Ingredient:
Flucloxacillin sodium 500mg

Indications:
Used to treat infections caused by bacteria that are sensitive to flucloxacillin such as skin infections, wound infections, abscesses, boils, cellulitis, impetigo, and pneumonia.

Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to flucloxacillin, penicillins or cephalosporins. History of flucloxacillin associated jaundice/liver damage.

Dosage:
The usual dose is 250mg to 500mg taken 4 times daily but dosage may vary depending on the infection being treated.

Added Information:
Take doses evenly spread throughout the day, at least 30 minutes before or 2 hours after meals. Complete the full course of treatment even if feeling better.

Caution:
Use with caution in the elderly, liver/kidney dysfunction, asthma, hay fever and those with a history of allergy.

Side Effects:
Diarrhea, fungal infections, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, rashes, jaundice, liver toxicity.

Store below 25°C in a dry place and protect from light. Keep out of reach of children.
