Iron & Vitamin Syrup Overview:

Composition: Each 5 ml (one teaspoonful) contains:

• Ferric Ammonium Citrate
• L-Lysine Monohydrochloride USP
• Pyridoxine Hydrochloride BP
• Cyanocobalamin USP
• Folic Acid BP

Indications:

• Iron Deficiency Anemia due to chronic blood loss, inadequate iron intake, hookworm infestation, etc.
• Dimorphic anemia caused by deficiencies in iron, folic acid, and/or Vitamin B12 (Cyanocobalamin).
• Anemia during pregnancy and lactation.
• Acts as a tonic for general weakness, lack of appetite, rundown conditions, and convalescence.
• Beneficial in post-surgery and other debilitated states.
• Used for preventing or treating low iron levels. It may also serve other purposes as prescribed by a healthcare provider.

Mechanism of Action: Iron/folic acid/vitamin B12 (Cyanocobalamin) combination provides essential vitamins and iron to the body. Lysine, an amino acid, is used in preventing and treating cold sores caused by the herpes simplex labialis virus. Ferric Ammonium Citrate is utilized in the treatment of Anemia, Hypochromia, and Pregnancy Complications.

Dosage and Administration:

• Adults: One tablespoonful twice daily after meals for therapeutic use.
• Children: As per physician’s advice.

Contraindications: The syrup is contraindicated in individuals with known hypersensitivity to the product or any of its components.

Precautions: Before taking this medication, inform your doctor or pharmacist about your medical history, especially if you have alcohol use/abuse, liver issues, or stomach/intestinal problems. If the multivitamin contains folic acid, disclose any vitamin B12 deficiency (pernicious anemia) to your doctor or pharmacist before usage. Liquid forms may contain sugar and/or alcohol. Caution is advised for individuals with diabetes, alcohol dependence, or liver disease. Seek guidance from your healthcare provider.

Storage Instructions:

• Keep out of reach of children.
• Store below 30°C in the original packaging to shield from light and moisture. Only remove the tablet from the blister strip when ready to take it.
• Do not use after the expiry date mentioned on the outer carton and each blister strip. Dispose of unused medicines appropriately to protect the environment.
