Mycovin capsules is an antifungal medication containing ketoconazole. It is used to treat fungal infections of the skin, hair, and nails (dermatophytosis), including tinea corporis (ringworm), tinea cruris (jock itch), tinea pedis (athlete’s foot), tinea versicolor, and seborrhoeic dermatitis. It may also be used for systemic fungal infections when topical treatment is insufficient. Ketoconazole works by inhibiting the synthesis of ergosterol, an essential component of fungal cell membranes, leading to fungal cell death.
