Usage & Safety Information

  • Directions/Usage:
    • Take the tablet orally with food or milk to prevent gastric irritation and stomach upset.
    • Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.
    • Always stick strictly to the exact schedule prescribed by your doctor.
    • Never stop taking this medicine suddenly. Stopping abruptly can cause dangerous steroid withdrawal symptoms like extreme fatigue, dizziness, and low blood pressure. Your doctor will give you instructions to taper (gradually lower) the dose. 
  • Common Side Effects:
    • Short-term use: Increased appetite, weight gain, fluid retention (bloating), trouble sleeping (insomnia), and sudden mood swings.
    • Long-term use: High blood pressure, elevated blood sugar levels, weakened immune system (catching infections easily), thinning skin, stomach ulcers, and bone thinning (osteoporosis).
