NALOXONE HCL FRESENIUS

Naloxone HCL Fresenius is used for the treatment, control, prevention, & improvement of the following diseases, conditions and symptoms:

Emergency medical treatment to reverse the life-threatening effects of an opiate overdose

Used after surgery to reverse the effects of opiates given during surgery.

Given to newborns to decrease the effects of opiates received by the pregnant mother

ACTIVE INGREDIENT 

Naloxone HCL 0.4mg/ml

DOSAGE

The dose of Naloxone HCl-Fresenius will be different for different patients. Follow your doctor’s orders or the directions on the label. The following information includes only the average doses of Naloxone HCl-Fresenius. If your dose is different, do not change it unless your doctor tells you to do so.

The amount of medicine that you take depends on the strength of the medicine. Also, the number of doses you take each day, the time allowed between doses, and the length of time you take the medicine depend on the medical problem for which you are using the medicine.

For injection dosage form:

For opioid emergency:

Adults and children—0.4 milligram (mg) injected under the skin or into a muscle.

SIDE EFFECTS 

Very common (affects more than 1 user in 10): sickness, feeling of being sick

Common (affects 1 to 10 users in 100): dizziness, headache, rapid heartbeat, low blood pressure, high blood pressure, vomiting, postoperative pain

Uncommon (affects 1 to 10 users in 1,000): shiver, sweating, heart rhythm disturbance, slow heartbeat, diarrhoea, dry mouth, rapid and deep breathing (hyperventilation), irritation of vessel wall (after intravenous administration)

Rare (affects 1 to 10 users in 10,000): fits, tension

CAUTION

Do not use Naloxone – if you are allergic to naloxone hydrochloride or any of the other ingredients of this medicine

Do not use Naloxone if you notice a discoloration, cloudiness or particles in the solution.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding:  consult your doctor first.

STORAGE 

Keep this medicine out of the sight and reach of children.

Do not use this medicine after the expiry date which is stated on the carton and ampoule after “exp”. The expiry date refers to the last day of that month.

Do not store above 25°C. Keep the ampoules in the outer carton in order to protect from light.

After first opening the medicinal product must be used immediately
