Oculose is a lubricant / artificial tear ophthalmic solution used to soothe, moisturize, and relieve discomfort from dry eye and irritation due to deficient tear or mucus secretion. 

Over-the-counter (OTC) — it is sold as a therapeutic eye lubricant not requiring a prescription in many markets. 

Ophthalmic lubricant / tear substitute (non-preserved artificial tear)

Hypromellose (hydroxypropyl methylcellulose) 0.3% w/v (lubricant) 

•  Benzalkonium chloride 0.02% w/v (preservative) 
•  Other ingredients: sterile aqueous base (vehicle) to make up volume. 

Topical ocular use (eye drop)

– For contact lens wearers: remove lenses before instilling drops; wait at least 15 minutes before reinserting lenses. 

– Use as needed to relieve dry, irritated eyes. 

 Mild stinging or burning upon instillation

– Minor temporary blurred vision

– Eye irritation or redness

– Rare allergic reaction (if hypersensitive to any ingredient)

Dropper bottle (sterile ophthalmic solution) — e.g. 5 mL size in a plastic or glass bottle with dropper tip 

Storage Advice:

Store at room temperature, in a dry place

•  Protect from direct sunlight and heat
•  Keep bottle tightly closed when not in use
•  Keep out of reach of children

• For external ophthalmic use only
•  Do not touch the dropper tip to any surface, including the eye, to avoid contamination
•  If you wear soft contact lenses: remove before applying and wait 15 minutes before reinserting
•  Discontinue use and seek medical advice if irritation worsens or persists
•  Do not exceed recommended dose
•  Avoid use in cases of allergy to components (e.g. benzalkonium chloride)
•  Use with caution in eyes with compromised corneas or open wounds
•  If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, consult a physician before use
