Description:

Salofenac Eye Drop is a topical ophthalmic solution used to reduce pain, inflammation, redness, and light sensitivity in the eyes following cataract surgery or corneal refractive surgery.

Consume Type:

Directions/Usage:

  • For cataract surgery: Instill 1 drop into the affected eye 4 times daily, starting 24 hours after surgery and continuing for 2 weeks. For corneal refractive surgery: Instill 1-2 drops into the operative eye 1 hour prior to surgery, within 15 minutes after surgery, and then 4 times daily for up to 3 days. Wash hands before use; tilt head back, pull down lower eyelid, apply drop without touching the tip to the eye, and close eye gently for 1-2 minutes. Wait at least 5 minutes between drops if using more than one. Do not use longer than prescribed.

Common Side Effects:

  • Temporary burning or stinging, blurred vision, eye redness, itching, discharge, increased tearing, or sensitivity to light.

Storage Advice:

  • Store at room temperature between 20°C to 25°C (68°F to 77°F), protected from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children; discard 4 weeks after opening.

Safety Advice:

  • Avoid if allergic to diclofenac, aspirin, or other NSAIDs.
  • Remove contact lenses before use and wait at least 15 minutes before reinserting; do not use while wearing lenses.
  • Use caution in patients with bleeding tendencies, diabetes, dry eye syndrome, or history of corneal issues; may delay healing or increase risk of corneal damage.
  • Not recommended during pregnancy (especially third trimester) or breastfeeding without medical advice.
  • Stop use and seek immediate help for severe eye pain, vision changes, swelling, or signs of infection.
  • Avoid contamination by not touching dropper tip to eye or surfaces; use one bottle per eye if post-surgery.
