Why do you need to give this medicine?
Simvastatin is used to decrease the level of low-density lipoproteins, increase high-density lipoproteins, and decrease triglycerides in the blood. It also decreases the amount of cholesterol and other fatty substances in the blood in children and teenagers who have familial heterozygous and homozygous hypercholesterolemia (an inherited condition in which cholesterol cannot be removed from the body normally)

ACTIVE INGREDIENT
Simvastatin 20mg

ADDED INFORMATION
Simvastatin will not work to treat the abnormal increase in the level of chylomicrons, which are used for transport of lipids (hyperlipidemia Fredrickson types I and V).
Simvastatin is taken usually in the evening with food.
Grapefruit juice may affect the functioning of Simvastatin in the body

INDICATION
To decrease the level of low-density lipoproteins, increase high-density lipoproteins, and decrease triglycerides in the blood

CONTRAINDICATION
Pregnancy and breastfeeding mothers.
Patients who are allergic to it.

DOSAGE
The typical dose of Simvastatin for adults is 5-80 mg once daily in the evening. The usual dose for children is 10-40 mg once daily. The maximum dose for adult patients of Simvastatin is 80 mg/day as a single dose in the evening per day

POSSIBLE SIDE EFFECT
Constipation, headache, nausea, stomach pain, upper respiratory infection

CAUTION
Cautioned in severe kidney damage patients.
Adults over 65years due to increased risk of myopathy

STORAGE
Store in a cool dry place where the temperature stays below 30°C. Do not store it or any other medicine in the bathroom or near a sink.
