Description:

Tixylix Infant Cough Syrup Glycerol (for 3 months+) is a soothing, non-drowsy cough syrup designed specifically for infants and young children. It relieves the symptoms of dry, tickly coughs and sore throats by coating and calming the irritated throat lining. The active ingredient, glycerol, acts as a demulcent to provide gentle relief without suppressing the cough reflex. It is suitable for children from 3 months to 5 years old.

Active Ingredients/Composition:

• Glycerol 0.75 ml per 5 ml dose (15% v/v)

Other ingredients: Liquid maltitol (Lycasin), hydroxyethylcellulose, sodium benzoate (E211), citric acid, sodium citrate, propylene glycol, natural flavours (e.g., vanilla or blackcurrant), and purified water.

Consume Type:

Oral – Liquid syrup (taken by mouth using a measuring spoon).

Directions/Usage:

• 3 to 12 months: One 5 ml spoonful, 3 to 4 times daily as required.
• 1 to 5 years: Two 5 ml spoonfuls (10 ml), 3 to 4 times daily as required.
• Allow 3–4 hours between doses.
• Use the measuring spoon provided.
• Do not use for more than 3–5 days without medical advice.
• Shake well before use if needed.

Common Side Effects: Generally well tolerated. Mild and uncommon:

• Stomach upset, nausea, diarrhoea (especially in high doses due to glycerol or maltitol).
• Mild irritation from excipients (e.g., sodium benzoate).

Allergic reactions are rare.

Storage Advice: Store below 25°C in a cool, dry place. Do not refrigerate or freeze. Keep the bottle tightly closed. Keep out of reach of children.
