Xarelto (rivaroxaban) is a prescription anticoagulant medication used to treat and prevent blood clots.

Therapeutic Category: 

Anticoagulant (Factor Xa inhibitor).

Active Ingredients/Composition:

 Each Xarelto 20 mg tablet contains 20 mg of rivaroxaban as the active ingredient.

Vitamins and Minerals: 

Xarelto does not contain added vitamins or minerals.

Variant: 

Xarelto is available in various strengths, including 2.5 mg, 10 mg, 15 mg, and 20 mg film-coated tablets.

Consume Type: 

Oral administration.

Directions/Usage:

  • Prevention of Stroke and Systemic Embolism in Non-Valvular Atrial Fibrillation: The recommended dose is 20 mg once daily, taken with food.
  • Treatment of Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT) and Pulmonary Embolism (PE): The initial dose is 15 mg twice daily with food for the first 21 days, followed by 20 mg once daily with food.

Always follow your healthcare provider’s instructions regarding dosage and duration of treatment.

Common Side Effects:

  • Bleeding complications (e.g., nosebleeds, gastrointestinal bleeding).
  • Anemia.
  • Nausea.
  • Elevated liver enzymes.
