What is the medicine used for?
This medication is an antihelminth with the active ingredient albendazole. It is indicated for clinical conditions caused by helminthes/protozoa.

How does it work?
It causes degeneration of cytoplasmic, microtubule in intestinal and teemental cells of intestinal helminthes.

How should this medicine be used?
It comes as a tablet a tablet or suspension and can be taken with or without food. It can be taken as a single dose of 400mg for adults and children above 2 years and 200mg as a single dose for children aged 1-2 years of age.

Common side effects of the drug
This medicine can cause side effects but not everybody gets it. The uncommon side effects include headache, stomach pains, nausea, vomiting and diarrhea.

What precautions should take when taking this medicine?

• Women of childbearing should initiate treatment within the first 10 days of starting menstrual period or immediately after negative pregnancy test, in order to avoid administering it during pregnancy.
• If you have liver or kidney problems, consult your pharmacist before taking it.

Can I take it with other medicines?
It can be taken with other medicines but it will be best if they are spaced.

Are there any food restrictions?
Avoid alcohol intake
