Description:

Virest 5% Cream (Aciclovir cream BP) is a topical antiviral medication used for the treatment of herpes simplex virus infections of the skin, including cold sores (herpes labialis) and genital herpes. It helps to reduce the duration and severity of outbreaks by inhibiting viral DNA replication. It is most effective when applied at the first sign of symptoms (tingling, itching, or redness) and does not cure the virus but shortens healing time and reduces discomfort.

Prescription-only (Rx) in most regulated markets, including Ghana. Requires a doctor’s prescription, typically from a dermatologist or general practitioner.

Consume Type:

Start treatment as early as possible at the first sign of symptoms (tingling or redness). Wash hands before and after application. Do not rub vigorously. Continue treatment for at least 5 days, even if symptoms improve. Do not use inside the mouth, eyes, or vagina unless specifically advised.
