CLARITYNE SYRUP
This medication is used to treat both nasal and non-nasal symptoms of seasonal allergic rhinitis, and it is also prescribed for the management of chronic idiopathic urticaria in patients who are 2 years of age or older.

INGREDIENTS
CLARITYNE Syrup contains 1 mg/mL micronized loratadine, an antihistamine, to be administered orally. 

ADDED INFORMATION
It also contains the following inactive ingredients: citric acid, edetate disodium, artificial flavor, glycerin, propylene glycol, sodium benzoate, sugar, and water. The pH is between 2.5 and 3.1

CONTRAINDICATIONS
Hpersensitivity to any of the ingredients

DOSAGE
Adults and children 6 years of age and over
2 teaspoonfuls (10 mg) of syrup once daily
Children 2 to 5 years of age
5 mg (1 teaspoonful) once daily

POSSIBLE SIDE EFFECTS
This drug may cause diarrhea, epistaxis, pharyngitis, influenza-like symptoms, fatigue, stomatitis, tooth disorder, earache, viral infection, and rash Report to the pharmacist or physician if side effects worsen or last more than a few days.

WARNING
Patients with liver impairment or renal insufficiency (GFR < 30 mL/min) should be given a lower initial dose (10 mg every other day)

STORAGE
Store dry powder between 2 and 30oC. Once opened, store in the refrigerator at 2-8oC and use within 7 days. Protect from sunlight and heat.
