Indications:
Salbutamol nebulizer is used to treat:
Acute asthma attacks: Sudden episodes of wheezing, shortness of breath, and chest tightness.
Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD): Long-term lung condition causing narrowed airways and difficulty breathing.
Bronchospasm: Tightening of the muscles in the airways, leading to wheezing and difficulty breathing.
Reversibly obstructed airways: Blockage of airways that can be reversed by medication.
Contraindications:
Salbutamol nebulizer should not be used if you have:
Hypersensitivity to Salbutamol or any of its ingredients.
Severe thyrotoxicosis (overactive thyroid gland).
Tachyarrhythmias (irregular and fast heartbeat).
Uncontrolled hypertension (high blood pressure).
Side Effects:
Common side effects may include:
Tremor (shaking)
Headache
Nausea
Nervousness
Tachycardia (increased heart rate)
Palpitations (feeling of a racing heart)
Oropharyngeal irritation (mouth and throat irritation)
Dosage:
The usual dosage for adults is 2.5mg to 5mg nebulized every 4-6 hours, as needed.
Dosage may be adjusted based on individual response and severity of condition.
For children, the dosage is typically lower and should be determined by a doctor.
Storage:
Store ampoules at room temperature (15-25°C).
Protect from light and moisture.
