Description:
Uperio 50mg Tablet contains febuxostat, a xanthine oxidase inhibitor used to treat chronic hyperuricemia in adults with gout where urate deposition has occurred (e.g., tophi, gouty arthritis). It reduces uric acid production to prevent gout attacks but is not for acute gout flares.

Directions/Usage:

Increase to 80–100 mg if uric acid >6 mg/dL after 2–4 weeks. Use with colchicine or NSAID for first 3–6 months to prevent flares. Long-term treatment; monitor serum uric acid.
Common Side Effects:
- Gout flares (initially), nausea, diarrhea, headache, joint pain, rash, abnormal liver function, swelling. Serious: Cardiovascular death (higher risk in heart disease), severe skin reactions, liver damage.
