Epilim is a medication used to treat epilepsy, bipolar disorder, and prevent migraine headaches.
 Prescription:Â
- Available only on prescription.
 Dosage:
- Â Â Â Adults and older children (12+ years): 600mg to 2,000mg a day, as 1 dose or split into 2 doses.
- Â Â Younger children (1 month to 11 years): The doctor will use the child’s weight to work out the right dose.

 Directions/Usage:
- Â Â Â Â Take with or after a meal or snack.
- Â Â Â Â Swallow slow-release tablets and capsules whole with a drink of water or juice.
- Â Â Â Â Add slow-release granules to a small drink or sprinkle onto soft food.

- Â Â Â Â Diarrhea
- Â Â Â Â Dry or sore mouth, or swollen gums
- Â Â Â Â Shakes (tremors) in a part of your body, or unusual eye movements

- Â Â Â Â Weight gain
- Â Â Â Â Thinning hair, or changes to the color or texture of your hair
- Â Â Â Â Irregular or delayed periods

- Â Store in a cool, dry place.
 Safety Advice:
- Â Â Â Â Do not take sodium valproate during pregnancy, as it can cause birth defects and problems with your baby’s learning and behavior.
- Â Â Â Â Â For women and girls of childbearing age, your doctor will enroll you on Prevent, the valproate pregnancy prevention programme.
