Description:
This is an injectable form of labetalol hydrochloride, a combined alpha‑ and beta‑adrenergic blocker. It is used for rapid reduction of elevated blood pressure, especially in hypertensive emergencies, severe hypertension (including in pregnancy), or other acute settings. It works by decreasing peripheral vascular resistance (through α‑1 blockade) and by reducing heart rate / cardiac output (through β‑blockade).
